From a Small Village to the World: The Origin of HQQuilt
From a Small Village to the World: The Origin of HQQuilt

The story of HQQuilt begins in Kim Sơn, Ninh Bình, a region in northern Vietnam known for its strong tradition of craftsmanship.
For generations, people in this area have worked with their hands—creating woven mats, textiles, and everyday objects for family life. These traditions shaped a culture where patience and careful work were deeply valued.
Growing up in such an environment, it was natural for creativity and craftsmanship to become part of daily life.
However, quilting itself was not yet widely practiced in Vietnam.

In many parts of the world, quilting has long been recognized as both a practical craft and an art form. In the United States, quilting communities have flourished for centuries. In Japan, quilting evolved into a refined aesthetic tradition.
But in Vietnam, quilting remained largely unexplored.
This inspired a simple but powerful idea:
What if Vietnam could develop its own quilting voice?
What if the patience, creativity, and warmth of Vietnamese craftsmanship could be expressed through quilts?
HQQuilt was created to explore this possibility.

Starting with handmade designs and small production, the brand gradually developed a distinctive approach to quilting—one that blends traditional values with modern design thinking.
Today, HQQuilt continues to grow from those humble beginnings.
From a small village workshop, we hope to share Vietnamese quilting with the wider world.
